Ever had that craving for peanut butter that you just want to eat it by the spoonful right out of the jar.Well, if you want that satisfaction without those extra unhealthy calories, then how about creating your own peanut butter that is better then any of the store bought versions.
"Homemade Condiments" has created this very homemade peanut butter recipe for all of us to enjoy. This peanut butter keeps it simple with uses basic ingredients and uses a food processor to create that smooth texture we all love. However if you are someone that loves a chunky version then I definitely welcome you to create it.Homemade has everything going for it,with being cheaper, incrediably adaptable and overall better flavor and texture. You definitely cannot go wrong with switching over to the good stuff. So try out this recipe for yourself and see what I mean!
Homemade Peanut Butter
1 3/4 cups roasted,skinless unsalted peanuts (about 8 ounces)
1 tbsp peanut oil, grape seed oil or any neutral tasting oil
1/2 tsp honey
1/2 tsp salt
Using my kitchen aid chopper, I placed the unsalted peanuts in the bowl and used the chop button.I processed the mixture until the nuts were grounded into a powder, similar to cornmeal.
When the mixture began to clump I began drizzling in the oil through the spout while processing the mixture. Then I removed the lid and added the honey and salt. I continued processing the mixture until it was smooth or to the consistency I like.
Then I transferred the peanut butter into a covered container and kept in the refrigerator. The peanut butter can also be kept in the fridge for up to a month. It also needs to be stirred if the oil begins to separate and if it becomes harden, let thaw for 10 minutes at room temperature before use.
