However the new factor for me in this recipe is it includes an extra step of adding in eggs whites to help create a fluffier and crisper exterior. So, that definitely was a game changer,since it really helped prevent the waffles from becoming soft and soggy before serving.

Classic Buttermilk Waffles


  
1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
 1/2 tsp salt
Pinch Of Salt
2 large eggs,separated
2 tsp granulated sugar 
1 2/3 cups buttermilk
3 tbsp butter,melted or vegetable oil
Non-stick cooking spray or vegetable oil

Using a large bowl,I whisked together the flour,baking powder,baking soda,and salt.


Using a medium bowl,I whisked together eggs yolks,sugar,buttermilk and melted butter,until smooth.


Then slowly poured the wet mixture over the flour mixture,stirring with a wooden smooth until smooth.

   
In a third medium bowl.I used my handheld electric mixer,beating the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks formed.


I gently folded in 1/3 of the egg whites into the batter,just until blended and no whites streak were visible.Continued with the remaining egg whites.

   

 Brushed the waffle maker with vegetable oil.Ladle in batter and cooked according to manufacturers directions.Then I transferred the waffles to a rack on a baking sheet and kept warm in a preheated oven.
