Twist On A Basic Oatmeal Cookie Recipe


 These are the same basic oatmeal cookie from Debbie Mumm cookie tin recipes; however with a little twist on the delicious cookie.This time I made them into thumbnails and placed one caramel candy treat on each cookie.They brought a wonderful chewy texture surprise and really made them a beautiful appearance.So try them out for yourself, enjoy.

Caramel Thumbprint Oatmeal Cookies
(Adapted From Basic Oatmeal Cookies, Debbie Mumm, cookie tin recipes)

2 cups uncooked old fashioned oats
1 1/3 cup all- purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup unsalted butter,softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla
Bag Of Caramel Candy's ( One candy for each cookie)

1.Oven to 350F.
2.Parchment paper to cookie sheet.
3.Mix oats, flour, baking soda,baking powder and salt in medium bowl.
4.In large bowl,beat brown sugar,butter and granulated sugar
5.Add egg,honey and vanilla,beat.
6. Slowly add flour mixture,1/2 cup at a time, stir.(Do not over mix).
7.Drop dough on prepared cookie sheets. (1 tbsp )
8. Use you thumb to put a print on top of each cookie. ( press lightly, but hard enough to leave a indent)
9. Bake 11-15 minutes. Half way through baking, place one unwrapped caramel candy in the thumbprint of each cookie. Bake till cookies are puffed, golden brown and caramel is melted.(Do not over bake).
10.Cool cookies on cookie sheets and then place on wire racks.
