Now Everyone Can Have Apple Fritters

This evening, I made these homemade apple fritters from a delicious recipe book called "Desserts" that my mom bought this afternoon for herself at the used book store near our house. Its a really nice small book store that sells really good in shape books and especially has a nice collection of culinary books. So I decided to make the first dessert out of the recipe book and they were so deliciously good. I know, I'll definitely make these again and maybe try a different filling.

These are everything you think of in an overall fritter, their outside exterior is perfectly risen and golden brown along with a deliciously crunchy, chewy and mildly sweet exterior. Then you begin to dive into the interior where its very soft and juicy sweet from the soft chunks of apple and the hint of cinnamon. These apple fritters are definitely a hit and will be gone in no time.Be a good idea to double the recipe to keep everyone happy.

So if your an apple fritter fan you will not be disappointed by this recipe, so try it out yourself and have fun.

Apple Fritters ( Adapted From Apple Fritters, Dessert Book)

    Serves 4-6

1 1/3 cup all purpose flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    2/3 cup milk
    1 egg,beaten
    oil,for deep frying
    3/4 cup granulated sugar
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 large apples, peel, core and cut into 1/4 inch slices
    Icing sugar, for dusting

    1. Add flour, baking powder and salt to lg bowl.Beat in milk and eggs using a wire whisk.

    2. Fill the heavy frying pan with olive oil, add enough oil to submerge the apple fritters.Half fill or more depending on how deep the frying pan may be. (For me I added  enough to fry one entire side and then flipping to fry again,I did this to conserve oil) However for best results is to have them submerge so they dont have to cook to long and have a light outside texture. But its still good either way.

    3.  Set the frying pan of oil at low-medium. To see if its hot enough you can add a cube of bread,if it sizzles and browns in 1-2 minute its ready.

    4. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in bowl or plate.Toss apple slices in sugar mix and coat evenly.
5.Dip apple slices in batter, using slotted spoon. Drain the excess batter and drop the fritter into frying pan until golden brown on both sides ( About 4-5 minutes). Then drain fritter on a towel. ( For conserving oil way it will take more then 4-5 minutes to brown both sides.)
    6. Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve hot.
