Here's one of my late night baking adventures again in which I started looking through my Company's Coming chocolate squared book and I came across these delicious looking chocolate peanut butter bars. If your into chocolate, peanut butter and rich tasting treats, well this is something for you. What sold me about this recipe was the beautiful appearance of these bars and how easy the directions were to make them.
If you enjoy the texture of chewy,crunchy and smooth along with a rich, sweet, chocolaty and peanut butter flavor then you must try this recipe out.They are a great dinner dessert, a party treat, or a treat to share out with a gathering of family and friends.This is a treat when given to someone creates a big smile on there face because of the bars great appearance, its rich sweet flavor and its intoxicating aroma of chocolate and peanut butter all working together to force you to devour every little crumb of it.

Peanut Butter Almond Bars
(Adapted From Peanut Butter Bars, Company's Coming chocolate squared)

3 cups quick cooking rolled oats
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter,softened
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup smooth peanut butter
Chopped whole almonds, 2 handfuls
1. Preheat to 350F
2.In medium saucepan,over med heat add butter(cut into pieces) and melt. Then add brown sugar and corn syrup, dissolve and stir.
3. Stir in flour and oats till well combined.
4.Grease 9 inch pan. Press crumbs into pan evenly.
5.Bake about 15 mins until edges are golden and center is firm. Let cool.
6. In a small saucepan,low heat,add chocolate chips and peanut butter, stirring until chocolate is almost melted.(DO NOT OVERHEAT).Take off heat and stir smooth.Spread over oats base evenly.
7.Sprinkle chopped almonds over top,let cool. Cut into squares
Oh wow those look so elegant! I like the sprinkle of nuts on top of the bars, makes them look very fancy :) This would be a great item to sell at a bake sale!!!
